Parent News Letter

Events and issues concerning St. Patrick of Heatherdowns School.

From the School Principal
Mr. Eric Wagener

May 27, 2004

Dear Parents:

This is the last parent letter of the 2003-2004 school year. There are a lot of end of the year activities taking place this last week of school. Please check the calendar. The last day of school is Thursday, June 3, 2004, with dismissal at 12:00 Noon. Due to the early dismissal, TARTA, Toledo Public, Springfield, Maumee, and Anthony Wayne will not be able to provide transportation. Parents please end the school year and begin the summer by joining us for our closing school liturgy at 10:30 am on this last day of school. At this special liturgy we will honor 25 students for their outstanding citizenship.

Please continue to keep Ellie, Moe, Suzy and John in your prayers. Remember that Our Lord is walking this journey with them every step of the way. On Wednesday, June 2, 2004, the Fricker’s on North St. Clair St. will be donating 10% of the proceeds for the day to the Ellie Blaskovic Foundation. Parents, if you would like to make a donation to this foundation, please send your contribution to Charter One Bank.

This is a reminder that tuition must be in before June 1, 2004, to avoid a late fee. You may apply for a low interest school tuition loan from the Toledo Community Credit Union. Also, if your child did not ride a Toledo yellow bus last year and you think your child will next year, please call Mrs. Bloch in the school office. We have something new for the 2004-2005 school year … “Meet the Teacher Nights”. We ask the students to come with their parents these nights to meet their teachers. More information will be coming in the August 6th parent letter that will be mailed to each family.

The Band Patrons Association will be selling “Books Wrapz” again in the fall. The price will remain at $4.00 each and they will be available the first day of school and at “Meet the Teacher Nights”.

We will have a June Market Day sale on the 16th at 5:00. Pick up will be at the Holy Family Center and proceeds for the summer will benefit our library. Paper orders can be sent to school through June 3rd or ordered on line at www.marketday.com. If you have never tried Market Day or have not ordered this year, please consider stocking up for summer and benefiting our school. If we have 100 orders, Market Day will pay us an additional 5%. Questions can be directed to Lynn Fouts (419-382-7033) or Maureen Copi (419-385-9368).

Please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication (including inhalers) at the Nurse’s office during school hours next week. All medication will be disposed of at the end of school.

TRIP information and order forms are now on the St. Patrick of Heatherdowns web site at www.toledostpats.org.

They are the 46th graduating class of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns, they will now become members of the class of 2008! May Our Lord bless and guide them on their journey.
The following students were the top finishers in our SPH Chess Tournament: Deana Dailey – 1st place, Max Nagel – 2nd place, Steven Lembas – 3rd place and Honorable Mention to Mira Hariri.

On behalf of the Faculty and Staff I would like to offer a BIG THANK YOU to all parents who have volunteered your services this school year. Our parents have logged over 12,000 volunteer hours this school year! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Have an enjoyable and relaxing summer!

God Bless You,
